The VGA Extender allows VGA video signals to be transmitted up to 100 meters via 4-pairs Cat5e/6 STP or UTP cable. VGA monitors can now be connected longer distances from the PC via standard twisted pair cable. This makes it ideal for classroom video distribution, lecture halls, retail kiosks, video information displays, and overhead projector systems – basically, an extender is a great option for any environment that requires an extended reach of VGA and saves the expense of buying bulk VGA cable.
Versatile Installation
The included (2) units (a transmitter and a receiver) are passive (require no power) and provide cable grounding when used with STP shielded twisted pair cables. The extender boxes can be installed on a wall or ceiling by means of the mounting wings and included hardware. Alternatively, both boxes have non-marring feet for free-moving placement atop a table without damage to the surface.
Resolution Retention
The VGA Cat5e/6 Extender supports up to 1280x1024 pixels (100MHz) at 60M, 1024x768 pixels (60MHz) at 75M, and 800x600 pixels (30MHz) at 100M via standard 4 pairs Cat5e/6 STP or UTP cable instead of VGA cable. The Transmitter has built in virtual DDC to avoid improper setting at resolution and frequency, and built in sync mode selection for signal stability. The Receiver has built in sync filter level adjustment for signal stability. Because the extender is self powered, it provides equalization to optimize a crystal clear picture quality.
How to Use
Connect the VGA Cat5e/6 Transmitter to the PC video source via the included VGA patch cable, and connect the VGA Cat5e/6 Receiver to the output source (i.e. projector, monitor, television screen, etc.) via another VGA cable (not included). Bridge the gap between the two boxes with a RJ-45 Cat5e or Cat6 twisted pair cable of your distance and choice (not included) for an easy and efficient connection.
